The Cantina Visalli  is located in Pallica, a district of Melito di Porto Salvo, a town overlooking the Ionian Sea famous for the landing of Garibaldi, the hero of two worlds and  the "Mille " and, in memory of  this  event, it was recently built the Garibaldi Museum, located on the " Promenade of the thousand ".
Melito, is also not far from the mountain and nearby, you can visit the ancient village of Pentedattilo, famous for the mammoth rock that reminds a five- fingers hand  whose name, "Penta-daktylos", in greek  means in fact  " five fingers ".
In this beautiful village, around the seventeenth century , the tragedy  of  Marchesi Alberti of Pentedattilo has taken place, a terrible massacre committed  in revenge by Barone Bernardino Abenavoli  del Franco, Lord of Montebello Jonico.
The Alberti family is also remembered because they built their residence in Melito and also they promoted the building of two churches: the Immacolata Concezione and the Santuario of Porto Salvo, the latter to host the effigy of the Madonna with child found on the homonymous beach.
Not far from the mountain, therefore, the town of Melito offers its visitors the opportunity to follow a delightful enogastronomic journey among the picturesque villages situated along the Valle del Tuccio.
